Otherwise, you can either get a bus or take the train:

By bus: From anywhere in Madrid get a taxi or metro to "estación del sur" It is not usually possible to book a bus, just go to the station and buy a ticket on the next available bus. The amount of buses going varies according to demand. If you are lucky the you won't have to wait long, but sometimes you may have to wait over an hour. The journey takes about 5 hours. You will stop at a place where they sell awful expensive sandwiches and lukewarm coffee. Don't worry the cafés in Granada are much better.

By train: For train information it is best to go to the renfe website. You will need to catch a train from Atocha.
